An eclectic line up of stars are coming to The Apex

There’s brilliant storytelling, big laughs and history with a twist, on offer at The Apex, in Bury St Edmunds, over the coming weeks and months.

The man with a cunning plan, Tony Robinson, (pictured above) is set to take to the stage on  on September 15. Forever loved for his Baldrick, Tony tells stories from “Blackadder”, “Time Team” and “The Worst Jobs in History” and brings his new historical novel, “The House of Wolf”.

Johnny Vegas stars as Moz, Manchester’s longest serving weed dealer, in “Ideal” on September 23.

Enjoy the chaotic adventures of Moz, Psycho Paul and Cartoon Head in a live performance of the infamous BBC sit-com.

Neil from The Young Ones, and founding figure of 1980s alternative comedy, Nigel Planer, shares his outrageous tales in a warm and witty show on September 24.

Janet Street-Porter brings comedy, tragedy and gossip in her crusade against growing old gracefully on September 29.

BBC Radio 4’s razor-sharp topical satire show, Dead Ringers, has added a matinee show on October 7, at 3pm, as their evening show has sold out.

The UK’s leading forensic pathologist Dr Richard Shepherd presents “Unnatural Causes – Time of Death” on October 21, explaining how time is crucial in uncovering the truth behind unexplained deaths.

The vocalist that inspired a generation, John Lydon (AKA Johnny Rotten), “Could Be Wrong or Could Be Right” is on October 24.

Stand-up comedy meets ventriloquism, when Paul Zerdin brings a delightfully outrageous cast of characters to life on October 26.

Suzi Ruffell finds it hard to be good all the time; she invites us to laugh at her “Juggle” on October 30.

Griff Rhys Jones has added an extra date on November 3, when he’ll share funny observations and comic stories in his new stand-up show.

Annabel Croft will share tales of tennis, famous friends and “Strictly Come Dancing”, in “From Tennis Balls to Glitter Balls” on November 6.

Responsible for the 80’s sound of Frankie Goes to Hollywood, ABC, Grace Jones and many others, super-producer Trevor Horn brings “Adventures In Modern Recording” to the venue on November 8.

Life is hard. Come and have a laugh about it with Andy Parsons on November 14.

Cheeky and charming, Rosie Jones brings her new show “I Can’t Tell What She Is Saying” on November 17.

Brilliant linguist, Susie Dent explores the joys of the English language on December 3.

And Radio 4’s favourite working-class leftie, Mark Steel, tackles a tough subject – his throat cancer – with his customary rapier wit on December 4.
