Man sentenced for County Lines drug offences
A man has been sentenced for drug offences with links to Sudbury.
Roland Doka, of Tilia Close, in Watford, was given a suspended sentence at Ipswich Crown Court (pictured above) for being concerned in the supply of cocaine and money laundering.
It follows his guilty plea at an earlier hearing.
He was arrested in July last year and charged with the two offences.
Doka received a 24-month jail sentence, suspended for two years. He also has to complete 150 hours unpaid work and 10 RAR days (Rehabilitation activity requirement).
A police investigation into a County Lines operation found Doka was operating cocaine supply lines into Sudbury from Watford in Hertfordshire.
Following the previous arrests of street level drug dealers in Sudbury, mobile phone evidence highlighted the 30-year-old as an upstream drug supplier and controller of the drugs lines.
Those arrests are suspected to have caused Doka to flee the UK and to travel to Albania – where he continued to run drug supply lines into Sudbury.
However, once Doka re-entered the UK, he was arrested and found to be in possession of £2,610 in cash.
This cash was suspected to be proceeds of crime, namely cocaine supply.
It is believed that Doka was running the operation between at least December 12, 2023, and April 10, 2024.
If you suspect drug dealing is taking place in your area or see anything suspicious or out of place, tell police. You don’t have to be certain, just concerned.
