Woman arrested after sheep killed in reported dog attack in Assington Green

 

A woman has been arrested after sheep were killed in a reported dog attack in Assington Green, Stansfield.

A report was made to police at 8.09pm on Friday, July 18, that a number of sheep had been attacked and killed, believed to have been caused by a dog/s, in a field on land near to Assington Green.

In total 35 sheep were killed and another 14 injured.

A woman was arrested the following day on suspicion of criminal damage, an animal welfare offence, and an offence of dogs worrying livestock.

She was taken to Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre (pictured above) for questioning and subsequently bailed to return to police on October 19.

Two dogs were seized and these remain within police kennels.
