Outdoor romcom production opens in Bury St Edmunds

“Steve And Steff For Ever”, (pictured above) the new outdoor romcom production, has opened to sold out audiences and rave reactions in Bury St Edmunds.

The town’s streets, cafés, and town centre are caught up in the magic of live theatre – and the production runs until August30  with a limited number of tickets available.

Directed by Owen Calvert-Lyons, the Theatre Royal’s atistic director, and written by TV comedy writer Ian Jarvis this promenade production has taken over the town, turning Bury St Edmunds into a stage for Theatre Royal’s second in-house production of the year following their Spring success with “A Tryal Of Witches”.

“It’s wonderful to see how much the town has embraced our production,” said Mr Calvert-Lyons.

“I love watching the public’s reaction: people in pubs, cafes and restaurants along the route stare out of the window, intrigued to see something like this taking place in their town. Most of those people ending up booking tickets the next day.”

The audience, is given headphones at the meeting point on Angel Hill, so that every line of dialogue and a bespoke soundscape immerses into a dynamic and new theatre experience.

Mr Jarvis has woven sharp wit and heartfelt emotion into this unique theatre format, to create a new play with a whirlwind of mismatched romance, witty banter, and modern love chaos – all played out on the town’s streets.
