Arrests after assault in Thurston followed by collision in Great Barton

Six males have been arrested after a reported assault in Thurston and a collision that followed in Great Barton.

Police were called at 5.19am this morning, Thursday, August 21, to reports a group of males in possession of weapons had entered a property and assaulted two men at Barton Road, in Thurston, in what is believed to be a targeted attack.

Police received a further report at 5.25am of a collision along Thurston Road, in Great Barton, near to the junction with A143, which involved three vehicles.

Road closures were initially in place; however, these were lifted later this morning.

A woman suffered facial injuries in the incident and was taken to hospital for treatment. These are not believed to be serious.

Two men, aged 18 and 22, who decamped from one of the vehicles, were arrested shortly after on suspicion of aggravated burglary.

One male who was injured in the assault was taken to hospital.

A man aged in his 40s suffered serious injuries to his foot, as well as further injuries to his arm. A 24-year-old man suffered a minor injury to his hand.

Police investigations led to a vehicle being stopped in North London in relation to the incident.

Four males decamped; however, two men were arrested at the scene while a further two were arrested a short time later.

The four males, aged 17, 21, 21 and 24, were arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary.
