Fresh appeal for witness to collision in Haverhill after pedestrian suffers serious injuries
Police officers are re appealing for witnesses after a collision in Haverhill left a man with serious injuries.
They were called at just after 1.30pm on Thursday, August 21, to the A143 Sturmer Road – near to the Esso filling station – to reports of an incident involving a mini digger on a trailer, towed by a car, in collision with a male pedestrian.
The victim, a man in 30s, was taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital, in Cambridge, by ambulance. The man suffered multiple serious injuries but has now left hospital.
A 30-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of drug-driving and was taken to Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre for questioning.
He was further arrested in custody on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and has been released on bail until Tuesday, November 4, pending further enquiries.
Officers are reappealing for witnesses to come forward, in particular a man and a woman who are believed to have been present and may have witnessed the incident.
