Work to take place on the A14 for three weeks

Maintenance work on the A14 between junctions 52 (Claydon) and 51(Needham Market) is set to take place next week resulting in night time road closures.

It will  include resurfacing and refreshing road markings and is beginning on Monday, September 15.

National Highways gangs will be working between 8pm and 6am on week nights and they said that “once complete, drivers will enjoy a safer, smoother, and better-defined road surface.”

The A14 will be closed westbound between the two junctions and traffic will be diverted off the dual carriageway at Claydon and join Norwich Road towards Needham Market to exit onto Kettle Lane. From Kettle Lane traffic will rejoin the A14 westbound.

National Highways said: “We understand and recognise how disruptive closures on this section of the A14 are to local residents. However, repairs are needed to extend the life of the road surface minimising the need for more extensive repairs in the future.”

A map of the diversion is pictured above.
