Sledgehammers and crowbars used in raid on store in Red Lodge

Raiders armed with  sledgehammers and crowbars have robbed a convenience store in Red Lodge.

Police officers were called at just after 10.50pm onSunday, September 7, to reports of the incident at Tesco, in Turnpike Road.

Three masked males entered the shop armed with sledgehammers and crowbars.

They pushed past staff and made threats towards them, before stealing various items including the tills, meat, tobacco and alcohol.

They then left the shop and made off in a white Ford Transit van.

The members of staff where left shaken but were not injured during the incident.

The suspects are described as three white males – two of slim build and one of large build – who were all wearing dark-coloured clothing and balaclavas.

Police are appealing for any witnesses and are asking any motorists driving in the area at the time of the incident with a dashcam fitted in their vehicle, to review the footage for any material that may be of assistance.
