Female cyclist dies following road traffic collision near Brandon

A female cyclist has died following a road traffic collision near Brandon.

Police were called by the ambulance service just before 10.50am on Saturday, October 18, to reports of a serious collision on the B1106, involving a black Ford Focus car and a bicycle.

Police, Suffolk Fire and Rescue, the ambulance service and air ambulance were all in attendance but despite the best efforts from medical personnel the cyclist, a woman aged in her 70s, died at the scene.

The incident resulted in the closure of the B1106 between Elveden and Brandon.

Police would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision and who has not yet spoken to officers, or anybody who was driving in the area and who has relevant dashcam footage.
