Advent service to be held in St Mary’s Church

St Edmundsbury Cathedral’s InHarmony project is working with Cantus Firmus Trust and Churches Together in Bury St Edmunds and District to present an Advent event for the town, on Sunday, December 14, at 7pm.

It will be held at St Mary’s Church (pictured above), in Honey Hill, Bury St Edmunds.

Entitled “Sharers in the Promise”, the presentation uses music and drama to reflect on the coming of Jesus Christ.. 

Cantus Firmus Choir (with singers drawn from churches across Bury St Edmunds and beyond) will be joined by the Benjamin Britten Choir of Guildhall Feoffment Community Primary School, accompanied by the InHarmony instrumental ensemble, under the direction of Richard Hubbard (St Edmundsbury and Ipswich Music Development Director), 

Drama, involving adults and children, will be directed by Neil Clayton.

Admission is by free ticket, available at cantusfirmus.org.uk

There will be a collection to help cover costs.
