£1,650 handed over to Cancer Support Suffolk from concert organised by Mid Suffolk Rotary Club
A cheque for £1,650 has been handed over to Cancer Support Suffolk thanks to a fundraising concert held at the United Reformed Church, in Stowmarket۔
It was presented by the Mid Suffolk Rotary Club at their meeting at the Limes Hotel, in Needham Market.
Club member Peter Andrews, who was responsible for choosing the charity to benefit from the concert’s takings, made the presentation to Mark Murphy MBE who is the CEO of Cancer Support Suffolk (pictured above).
Mark is a former presenter at BBC Radio Suffolk and he gave the club a talk about the work of his charity and his time working on his morning breakfast show.
Cancer Support Suffolk is an independent local charity providing education, emotional support, and complementary therapies for people in Suffolk before, during, and after cancer treatment.
All funds raised stay within Suffolk to support local residents.
It delivers talks on cancer signs and symptoms to schools, community groups, and businesses.
It also focuses on early detection, which improves treatment outcomes and provides free complementary therapies through the Ipswich Cancer Wellbeing and Information Centre at Ipswich Hospital.
At the same meeting an induction of a new member, Ramin Pirzad, was made by club President Richard Tingey.
Mid Suffolk Rotary usually meet every two weeks at the Limes Hotel in Needham Market. Everyone is welcome and if you are interested in coming, please contact richard@tingeys.co.uk.
