Council employee assaulted while picking litter

A council employee collecting litter near a block of garages, in Great Cornard, has been assaulted

The man was carrying out the task in Raydon Way, between 8am and 8.15am, on Tuesday, January 13, when an unknown suspect attacked him.

The suspect had initially said “good morning” to the victim before swearing at him and striking him on the back of the head, causing him to lose consciousness and fall forward on to the ground for a short time.

The victim had been leaning forward picking up litter and did not see the offender. When he regained consciousness the suspect had left the area.
