Man charged following armed police incident in Brandon
A man was due in court today following an incident involving armed police in Brandon which lasted for 11 hours.
Officers were called before 10.10pm on Wednesday, January 28, to reports of a man making threats to harm himself and others at a block of flats in Yew Drive.
On police arrival the man then made threats towards officers and threatened to harm himself.
Armed police, negotiators as well as ambulance and fire crew responded to the incident, which was safely resolved after 11 hours – by approximately 9am the following day, Thursday, January 29.
A man aged in his 30s was subsequently arrested in connection with the incident and taken to Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre for questioning.
Adam Moran, of Yew Drive in Brandon, has now been charged with sending communication threatening death or serious harm.
He was due to appear before Ipswich Magistrates’ Court (pictured above) today, Friday, January 30.
