Man arrested following fire at barn in Lakenheath
A man has been arrested in connection with a fire at a barn in Lakenheath.
Police were called to Back Street by Suffolk Fire & Rescue shortly after 11.30pm on Thursday, January 29, to reports that a barn was completely engulfed in flames.
Emergency services attended the scene and a man, aged in his 20s, was located inside the property.
He was taken to hospital by ambulance for treatment to severe burns and remains in hospital in critical but stable condition
A man aged in his 70s has been arrested on suspicion of false imprisonment and on suspicion of the cultivation of cannabis.
He was taken to Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre for questioning and has subsequently been released on police bail.
Officers are continuing to progress several lines of enquiry in relation to the incident and are appealing to anyone with information, or to those who had recent use of the building to contact police.
