Man wanted in connection with collision in 2024

Police in Haverhill are appealing for help to trace a man (pictured above) who is wanted in connection with a collision which caused lasting impacts on a pedestrian who was injured during the incident.

The collision occurred between 11.15pm and 11.30pm on Monday, August 12, 2024, in Ehringhausen Way, near the Esso filling station, and involved a red Nissan Micra and a pedestrian. The Nissan Micra failed to stop following the collision.

The pedestrian – a man aged in his 30s – was taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital, in Cambridge, for treatment, where it was found he had sustained a broken bone in his neck. He was discharged from hospital three days later to continue his recovery at home.

The injuries have left the man with permanent pain and the incident has caused a significant psychological impact on him which is considered to be life-changing.

Officers are appealing for help from the public to locate a man they would like to speak to in connection with this incident.

He is Dzhemal Dzhemal, (pictured above) aged 29, and had been residing in Haverhill but is understood to have moved elsewhere shortly after the collision.

Officers have made numerous enquiries to locate Mr Dzhemal, both within the UK and abroad. It is now thought that he may be living in London.

They would like to hear from anyone who believes they know where he may be, or who has any information regarding his whereabouts.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact the Haverhill Response Investigation Team, quoting reference: 37/45772/24.
