Eclectic mix of up and coming bands set for the Apex next month
Following on from the popular BurySOUND final in March, Club Columbia is a new live event coming to The Apex, in Buru St Edmunds, featuring four of the music industry’s hottest up and coming indie/alternative bands.
Utilising their industry contacts, The Apex team have put together a line-up of emerging talent tipped for a big future by music industry experts.
They are:
CHEST (pictured above): Merging inspiration from the likes of Catatonia and Superdrag, with more contemporary influences such as Been Stellar and Inhaler, Chest create a dynamic and genre-defying sound, with echoes of Bloc Party, Everything Everything and Feeder shining through. Fresh from a run of sold-out headline shows and early support from BBC Radio 1 and BBC 6 Music, Chest are a band to watch closely.
THE PORTLAND: Musically, The Portland acknowledge an eclectic array of influences, including Pixies, Wunderhorse, Keo, The Clause and Foals. The past 12 months has seen the band supporting The Hunna, Adult Leisure, Cruz and Stanleys, and also making their London debut. Filled with passion, energy, and authenticity, The Portland are a band that need to be witnessed live.
IKARUS: This Manchester-based quartet have been growing a strong and loyal following across the North West and have performed many times at Latitude Festival. Fans of Arctic Monkeys will love this band!
JADED TEETH: Taking influence from artists like Big Thief, Bella White and Neil Young, lyricist and singer Indigo Spooner and guitarist and composer Jack Stanton create a rich guitar-led soundscape, which touches on elements of indie-folk and country, topped with heartfelt vocal delivery and beautifully placed harmonies.
Club Columbia is at The Apex, on Friday, April 10, at 7.30pm. See www.theapex.co.uk or ring 01284 75800
