Three people arrested following stabbing incident
A teenager boy has been stabbed following an assault in Stowmarket.
Police officers were called to the recreation ground on Finborough Road by the East of England Ambulance Service just before 8.30pm yesterday, Tuesday, April 21, following reports that a teenage boy had sustained stab injuries.
It was reported that three suspects approached the victim, before making off on foot.
Police, ambulance and air ambulance crew attended the scene and the boy was taken to hospital for treatment to his injuries.
Following enquiries, three suspects (an 18-year-old man, a 17-year-old boy and a 16-year-old boy) were located at Stowmarket train station a short time later and arrested on suspicion of assault causing grievous bodily harm.
They have been taken to Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre (pictured above) for questioning, where they remain.
Officers will be undertaking additional uniformed patrols in the area to provide reassurance to the local community.
Detectives are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to contact police and this includes anyone driving in the area around the time that may have dash camera footage.
