Line up of rock band and artist set to descend on The Apex

There’s a host of rock bands and musicians coming to The Apex, in Bury St Edmunds, this coming autumn.

They include Focus, Wishbone Ash, Showaddywaddy and Sweet.

Harking back to the classic age of prog, Big Big Train channel 1970s Genesis and Yes into their well-crafted pastoral rock music.

One of the leading forces in modern progressive music, their lineup features multi-instrumentalists who swap and share duties.

Mike Dawes (pictured above) is one of the world’s most creative fingerstyle guitarists, famous for performing multiple parts on a single guitar.

Named “Best Acoustic Guitarist in the World” by Total Guitar Magazine, his versions of Gotye’s “Somebody That I Used to Know” and Metallica’s “One” have amassed tens of millions of views.

What do you get if you cross classical music, hard rock and yodeling? Of course, it’s “Hocus Pocus”, by Focus.

One of the original prog bands of the 1970s, Focus are enjoying a resurgence in popularity with their renowned live concerts – each song is breathtakingly unique, and each performance different to the one before.

Still only 21, Toby Lee is already a three-time winner of Young Blues Artist of the Year and has had three singles playlisted by BBC Radio 2. His six-string talents dazzle audiences with scorching leads, evocative melodies and swaggering grooves.

The legendary rockers whose iconic twin-guitar sound inspired many other bands, Wishbone Ash return with songs from a back catalogue spanning over 55 years.

Better known for his innovative surgical solutions for animals, Supervet Noel Fitzpatrick (pictured above) will be showing off his guitar skills in his new live show.

Mentored by Brian May and Tony Iommi, Noel and his band will be mixing feel-good stories from his life as a vet with original songs and favourite rock covers.

Smoky-voiced chanteuse, Elles Bailey (pictured above) has powered her way to the forefront of the British Americana and Blues scenes in recent years, picking up Live Act of the Year at the UK Americana Awards, and Vocalist of the year at the UK Blues Awards.

If you like your rock with a bit of “roll”, the most successful exponents of retro-inspired rock ‘n’ roll, Showaddywaddy will be bringing their hit singles, “Under The Moon of Love”, “3 Steps To Heaven” and many more.

The Stanleys are an electrifying four-piece indie band known for their gloriously catchy 1960s and 90s-inspired guitar sound. They’ll be playing Club Columbia – The Apex’s new showcase of emerging talent from the indie and alternative rock scene.

And finally, Glam Rock royalty – The Sweet. Arguably the 1970s’ finest glambusters, The Sweet had a string of top 10 records, including “Blockbuster”, “Hellraiser” and “Ballroom Blitz”.

There will also be tributes to Blondie, Bread, Guitar Heroes, T.Rex, Arctic Monkeys, Classic Rock and The Specials.
