Building site managers named as the UK’s best

Timothy Chandler, Shaun Taylor, Dale Smith, and Aidan Edmonds have all been named as one of the best in the UK after winning a prestigious Pride in the Job 2026 Quality Award from the National House-Building Council (NHBC).

The award recognises the men’s outstanding work at various Taylor Wimpey developments across Suffolk, including Deben Park at Brightwell Lakes, Martlesham Heath; Lark Grange, Bury St Edmunds; Northfield View, Stowmarket; and The Arboretum, Haverhill; and their commitment to excellence in site management and build quality.

Widely considered the “Oscars” of the house-building industry, Pride in the Job celebrates site managers’ dedication to raising standards, showcasing best practice and rewarding excellence.

Judging is rigorous, with thousands of assessments taking place across 7,500 sites.

Only 450 people have been selected as winners, placing the quartet firmly within the top six per cent of site managers across the UK.

Shaun, the site manager at Lark Grange, said: “It’s great to be recognised as one of the top site managers in the UK and I feel very proud.”

Dale, site manager at Northfield View, said: “I couldn’t have achieved this without the team at Northfield View who all support me in delivering high-quality homes for our customers.”

And Aidan, site manager at The Arboretum, said: “I’m delighted that my efforts have been recognised. This is a fantastic achievement for not only myself, but all of the team at The Arboretum.”

The Quality Award winners will now go on to compete for Seal of Excellence and Regional Awards in the autumn, with the national Supreme Award winners to be unveiled in January 2027.
