Jaynic to become major sponsor of Theatre Royal

Land and business space developers Jaynic is to become a major sponsor of Theatre Royal Bury St Edmunds for the next three years.

The new sponsorship will provide long-term support for the theatre and its work, strengthening the existing and long-term sponsorship support it already receives from local companies across the region.

Jaynic, which has its head office near Bracknell, in Berkshire, along with its regional office in Skyliiner Way, Bury St Edmunds, is an established property company that specialises in promoting land for residential and employment development predominantly in East Anglia.

In Suffolk its developments include Suffolk Park in Bury St Edmunds, EpiCentre Innovation Centre in Haverhill and the new major Gateway14 mixed use park next to the A14, in Stowmarket.

Managing director, Nic Rumsey, (pictured above) said: “Jaynic is proud to be principal sponsor of the Theatre Royal at a time when it has never been more important to support local and regional communities where the arts play a vital part. There can have been no greater loss to the communal vitality of Bury St Edmunds and its surrounding region than when the lights went out in the first pandemic lockdown a year ago, for all forms of entertainment including theatres, museums and art galleries. We are delighted that, 14 months on, the theatre is alive and well with an exciting programme of events already in the diary for the coming year.

“The Theatre Royal is an historic building within Bury St Edmunds that not only adds to the aesthetics and cultural values of the area but also creates a stronger bond with our past and attracts more people to the area. Preserving the theatre is beneficial not only for a community’s culture and heritage, but also for its local economy. As a developer Jaynic is creating new buildings, mainly for commercial use, in Bury St Edmunds, Haverhill, Stowmarket and other Suffolk locations but we appreciate the need to protect historic buildings and what goes on in them.”

Theatre Royal’s head of development Emma Suckling added: “We are delighted to welcome Jaynic as a major sponsor of Theatre Royal – to work with them for at least the next three years is a wonderful boost for us.

“Sponsorship offers companies like Jaynic a unique opportunity to engage with Theatre Royal and our audiences, whilst directly supporting the theatre. This support allows us to entertain audiences with our diverse programme of high-quality theatre, build on our strong community engagement projects working with people who are more vulnerable than others and will benefit local young people through our education and community programmes.

“These projects allow us to make theatre accessible for disabled people, those with mental health problems, young people at risk, senior citizens, those in rural communities or those simply unable to access theatre and the arts.”
