Man accused of murdering his wife and daughter appears in court

A 46-year-old man accused of murdering his wife and daughter at their home in Great Waldingfield last month has appeared at court.

Officers were called at just after 9.55am on Thursday, September 8, to reports of concerns for the safety of individuals at a property in Heath Estate.

Entry was gained to the address and a 12-year-old girl and 43-year-old woman were found deceased inside.

Subject to confirmation at formal inquest proceedings, they have been identified as Jillu Nash and her daughter Louise Nash.

A Home Office post-mortem examination in respect of Jillu Nash concluded her cause of death was pressure on the neck. A Home Office post-mortem examination in respect of Louise Nash determined the cause of her death to be a stab wound to the abdomen.

Peter Nash, of Heath Estate, Great Waldingfield, was charged with two counts of murder on Sunday, October 16, after spending more than five weeks under police arrest in hospital.

Nash appeared before magistrates yesterday, Monday, October 17, before making an initial appearance at Ipswich Crown Court via video link later in the day.

He appeared at the Crown Court again today, Tuesday, October 18, where he was remanded in custody pending a plea hearing to be held on Thursday, January 5, 2023.
