Armed robbery at betting shop in Bury St Edmunds

A man armed with a knife carried out a robbery at a betting shop in Bury St Edmunds, this morning (Tuesday, September 19).
Police received a report at about 10.20am after the incident at Ladbrokes on St Olaves Precinct.
A man entered the premises and threatened staff with a knife, demanding money.
The male member of staff gave him a quantity of cash before the offender left the scene on foot in the direction of Western Way.
The victim was shaken but unhurt. A short while later, police arrested a man, aged in his 30s and he will be taken to Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre for questioning.
