Body of man discovered in a field in Bury St Edmunds

The body of a man has been discovered in Bury St Edmunds.

Police were called at just after 9.10am yesterday morning, (Friday, September 20) to reports that a man had been found deceased in a field near to Westley Lane.

Although formal identification procedures have not yet taken place, the deceased is believed to Darren Bird, aged 54, who was reported missing after last being seen on Saturday, September 14.

The death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner in due course.
