Cast revealed for annual pantomime at Theatre Royal

The cast for the annual pantomime at Theatre Royal Bury St Edmunds has been announced with rehearsals for this year’s production of “Aladdin” just under six weeks away.

It runs from November 22, to January 12, with the title role taken by Samuel Deghkhadirian who is a recent graduate from Urdang, City of London in 2023 with a degree in Professional Dance and Musical Theatre.

The story is based round the hotelier from hell Abanazer, played by David Djemal, who owns Arabia’s finest hotel and longs to rule the world.

The other in the cast include Darcy Manning, as Princess Yasmin; Quinn Patrick as the dame Sally Swankey (Dame) who said: “Having played Dame all over the country, I always heard great stories about the Bury panto, so I’m thrilled to be here doing it. Looking forward to this fantastic new take on the ‘Aladdin’ story too. I’m sure it’s going to be a wonderful season all around.”

Charlie Cameron plays the magical Genie and the intrusively enthusiastic Vizzy, aide to Princess Yasmin; Ruby Ablett, is Washy, the driving force behind Abanazer International taking every job in her stride all with a quick wit and a smile on her face; and Lizzie Buckingham is Camilla The Camel

Tickets are on sale from £12 and can be purchased via the box office or online at theatreroyal.org and Culford School is the sponsor for the shows.
