Images released of man wanted for questioning over serious assaults in Bury St Edmunds

Detectives investigating two serious assaults in Bury St Edmunds are issuing CCTV images of a man they would like to trace in connection with the incidents (pictured above and below).

Both attacks took place at around 10pm on Friday, August 30, in St Andrews Street North, involving one suspect and two separate victims.

The first assault took place within Nightjars bar where a man was punched in the face.

The second incident – which has been previously publicised – took place outside the bar, where a man was punched in the face and sustained a broken jaw.

Officers have been undertaking numerous enquiries into the incidents and are now issuing images of a man they would like to speak to in connection with them.

He is described as white, 6ft tall, and with short dark-hair with shaved sides.

Anyone who believes they know the man pictured in the images, or who has any information regarding these crimes, is asked to contact West CID at Bury St Edmunds Police Station, quoting reference: 49768/24.
