James Cartlidge, the MP for South Suffolk, has paid a visit to the award winning Peacock Inn, in Chelsworth.
He was there to help celebrate the venue recently being included in the latest edition of the Michelin Guide, one of only 13 establishments in the entire county to be in the guide.
The Peacock Inn prides itself on using the best local, seasonal and sustainable produce.
Stand-out dishes include Orchard farm pork loin with crispy cheek croquette, turnips, crab apple, pork belly, Aspalls cider and mustard frills and Sir Gerald’s pie braised short horn beef shin in beef fat pastry, parsley and shallot salad, mash, bordelaise sauce and truffle.
Mr Cartlidge, who is also the shadow Defence Minister was able to carry out a “behind the scenes” tour in the kitchen and had a discussion about the business and the significance of the award for the area.
He said: “I was proud to congratulate the team at the Peacock Inn last Friday on their success in the Michelin Guide.
“The Peacock is an amazing pub in South Suffolk, serving up some super food in a delightful rural setting. They are very deserving of this recognition and would highly recommend the pub as a destination for foodies across South Suffolk and further afield.
“I wish the team the best of luck for the future and look forward to seeing them go from strength to strength.”
