Work to be carried out to remove trees along the A14

Trees bordering a stretch of the A14 will be cut down and removed towards the end of this month.

The work is set to be carried out by National Highways between the junction with the A140 Norwich road and the Stowmarket/Stowupland interchange.

The trees, which are suffering from Ash Die Back, will be cut down and removed and as part of the work there will be a replanting project carried out with a mixture of new species.

The work is part of a wider project on the A14 between junctions 49 and 58. and will be carried out over seven nights from Thursday, January 23, between 8pm and 6am on week nights only.

To carry out the work safely the A14 westbound will be closed and divert traffic as detailed below:

Thursday 23 January, 8pm to Wednesday 29 January, 6am

Traffic will be diverted of the A14 at junction 51 via the A140 and A1120, rejoining the A14 westbound at Junction 50.

Wednesday 29 January, 8pm to Saturday 1 February, 6am

Traffic will be diverted onto the A14 eastbound to junction 51, then return westbound.
