Cyclist suffers ‘life changing’ injuries after falling off his bicycle

A cyclist is recovering in hospital after he was discovered with “life changing” injuries after falling off his bicycle in Stowupland.

Police were called at 11.15pm on Friday, May 16, to reports of an incident on the A1120, where a man aged in his 40s was discovered to have fallen off his bicycle and sustained serious injuries.

Ambulance crews were also in attendance and the cyclist was initially taken to Ipswich Hospital for treatment, before being transferred to Addenbrooke’s Hospital, in Cambridge, where he currently remains in a stable condition.

His injuries are described as potentially life-changing.

Officers are making enquiries to establish whether or not any other vehicles were involved in the incident, and as such are appealing for any potential witnesses.

They are also asking any motorists driving in the area at the time of the incident with a dashcam fitted in their vehicle, to review the footage for any material that may be of assistance.
