Man jailed for drugs offences

A man arrested in Bury St Edmunds on suspicion of intent to supply drugs has been jailed for 32 months.
Sentinel West officers stopped a white Vauxhall Astra in Tayfen Road on March 6.
The driver, Bogdan-mitrut Radulescu (pictured above), who was the sole occupant of the car, was searched and a number of press-seal bags containing cocaine were found in his pocket.
Officers also searched a nearby address he was linked to and found cocaine with an estimated street value of £24,000, along with ID documents in his name.
Radulescu, a 33-year-old Romanian national from the Northamptonshire area, was charged and remanded to court for possession with intent to supply Class A drugs.
He was subsequently sentenced at Cambridge Crown Court on June 26 to 32 months in prison.
Pc Harry Tully, of the Sentinel West Team, said: “Radulescu thought it was acceptable to travel to Bury St Edmunds from another county to deal drugs.
“Due to the overwhelming evidence presented by the team at court, a guilty plea was entered.
“We will continue to robustly police the road network to tackle this type of crime, which ultimately brings harm to our community.”
