Residents to have their say on latest phase of development plans in Sudbury

Residents in and around Sudbury have been invited to have their say on proposals for the fourth phase of residential development at Westland Heath.

The development, known locally as Chilton Woods, will include 1,150 new homes, including affordable homes for rent or shared ownership, as well as land for a new primary school with pre-school facilities on the site, a village centre with new shops and community hall.

Homes have been on sale since 2021 and developer Taylor Wimpey is now launching an online consultation on its fourth phase.

This phase will comprise 271 homes, with a mix of one to two-bedroom apartments and one to five-bedroom houses, including some affordable homes.

There will also be areas of green open space to connect with the wider development.

The consultation will run from August 11 to 25 at www.taylorwimpey.co.uk/new-homes/sudbury/chilton-woods

People will be able to view the plans online from the start of the consultation period and provide their feedback via the website.

David Pelle, the land and planning director for Taylor Wimpey London, said: “We’ve been consulting with the community around Westland Heath for a number of years now and we are keen to get their views on our latest phase of development.

“The new community is really taking shape and this is a chance for people to influence our newest designs before we submit a planning application to Babergh District Council later this year.”
