Step out to the sounds of the Twisted Wheel, Blackpool Mecca, Golden Torch and Wigan Casino at Northern Soul Live at The Apex.

Described by Wigan Casino founder and DJ Russ Winstanley as “Absolutely Fantastic”, you can expect a performance full of passion and energy when The Signatures put their own stamp on familiar Northern Soul recordings.

Ten-piece live band, The Signatures are the official backing band for many of the original Northern Soul artists from the USA on their UK tours, including Eddie Holman, Tobi Legend, Dean Parrish and Nolan Porter, as well as being the house band for the Northern Soul special on The Craig Charles Funk and Soul Show on BBC 6 Music.

Joining The Signatures on stage are original Northern Soul artists Lorraine Silver and Sidney Barnes.

Lorraine recorded “Lost Summer Love” for PYE Records when she was just 13 years old in 1965, which went on to become an iconic track at the legendary Wigan Casino in the 1970s.

Sidney Barnes was a house producer and writer at Motown, where he composed such classic tracks as “ABC” for The Jackson 5 and “Love Child” for The Supremes.

He also had many Northern Soul floor fillers, including “Standing on Solid Ground”, “I Hurt On The Other Side” and “You’ll Always Be in Style”.

Northern Soul Live is at The Apex on Friday, September 12, at 7.30pm.
