Shop local this season at West Suffolk markets

From pumpkins to pottery, there’s lots on offer at the regular Makers Markets this October, with additional half term Halloween treats for the family.

Several West Suffolk markets will have a haunted Halloween twist over the half term break:

  • Newmarket market – Cookstars Cookery will be hosting a spook-tastic food workshop for families on Tuesday, October 28, from 10.30am to 1.30pm.
  • Bury St Edmunds market – Children are invited to make their own Halloween themed postcards with Imagination Education on Wednesday, October 29, from 11am to 2pm.
  • Brandon market – Bring all the family to enjoy a Halloween themed magic show from We Entertain on Thursday, October 30, from 10.30am to 11am, and 11.30am to 12 noon.
  • Haverhill market – Join The Crafty Foxes and create a themed monster or ghost to take home on Friday, October 31, from 10.30am to 1.30pm.
  • Mildenhall market – Children can meet and greet their favourite Halloween characters as well as enjoy face painting and glitter tattoos from Dreams and Wishes Events on Friday, October 31, from 10.30am to 1.30pm.

The regular markets are not to be missed, offering fresh local produce, baked goods, flowers and more:

  • Brandon market – every Thursday, 8.30am to 1.30pm;
  • Bury St Edmunds market – every Wednesday and Saturday, 9am to 4pm;
  • Clare monthly market – Saturday, October 18, 8.30am to 1.30pm;
  • Haverhill market – every Friday and Saturday, 9am to 3pm;
  • Mildenhall market – every Friday, 9am to 2.30pm; and
  • Newmarket market – every Tuesday and Saturday, 9am to 3pm

October also highlights the incredible creativity of traders at the Makers Markets:

  • Haverhill Makers Market – Saturday, October 4, 9am to 3pm;
  • Bury St Edmunds Makers Market – Sunday, October 5, 10am to 3pm; and
  • Newmarket Makers Market – Saturday, October 11, 9am to 3pm
