Series of fires prompts appeal by police
An appeal for witnesses to a series of fires in Bures has been made by police.
Officers have received reports of arsons in the village including the cricket club that was destroyed on Tuesday, September 9.
On Tuesday, September 30, a compost was set on fire at a church yard; on Tuesday, October 7, a stand selling eggs at the junction of Cuckoo Hill and Wind Whistle ridge was set alight; and on Saturday, October 4, a fence panel on Wharf Lane was set alight.
Officers have conducted reassurance patrols and continue to liaise with the local community, including the parish council.
They are now appealing for witnesses or anyone who knows who was responsible for these incidents to report it to police.
