A law firm has strengthened its presence across Suffolk with the incorporation of another firm, bringing two teams together across the county.

Adept Legal will now fall under the Smith & Co Solicitors banner, further bolstering its conveyancing and private client expertise, while extending the firm’s local presence across Haverhill, Sudbury, Ipswich and Felixstowe.

The expanded firm now comprises 24 staff, aged from 20 to 65 and including expert solicitors with decades of experience alongside executive, paralegals and five apprentice solicitors.

The firm is predominantly female-led, with women making up almost 90 per cent of the team, and is well known for its flexible working practices and commitment to supporting long-term career development within the legal profession.

Vicky Hosking, the managing partner at Smith & Co Solicitors, said: “We are thrilled to be expanding our team and our presence across the region. This is a really positive step for our firm and, most importantly, for our clients.

“Adept Legal brings with it a highly respected team with deep local knowledge and experience, particularly in conveyancing. And, by bringing our teams together, we’re strengthening our skills base, expanding our reach across Suffolk and ensuring clients continue to receive straightforward, supportive legal advice from people they know and trust.”

Founded in 1990, Smith & Co Solicitors has built a reputation for providing clear, practical legal advice with a people-first approach.

With the expansion, the business is reinforcing its commitment to accessible, high-quality legal support rooted in local communities.

Vicky added: “Adept Legal has a long-established presence in Haverhill, where its team is well known among local residents, developers and estate agents.

“Clients will continue to receive the same trusted service, now backed by the wider resources, knowledge and support of Smith & Co Solicitors.”

Beyond its legal services, Smith & Co Solicitors is actively involved in the local community, supporting initiatives such as the Memory Lane Café dementia support group in Ipswich, providing local legal clinics, sponsoring community events including the Ipswich Book Festival, and working closely with the University of Suffolk to offer work experience opportunities to law students.

Clients of both firms are being supported through the transition, with continuity of service a key priority.
