Resurfacing work to take place at town car park

Resurfacing and relining work will see the closure of Lower Down Slade car park in Haverhill early next month.

West Suffolk Council manages the short stay car park and intends to close the larger section of the car park for three days starting from Monday, March 2.

It also intends to close the smaller car park on Wednesday, March 4, to enable fresh road markings to be painted.

Dave Taylor, the cabinet member for Operations at the council, said: “We are re-investing money from Civil Parking Enforcement to carry out this vital resurfacing work.

“We appreciate that it will cause some disruption and I’d like to thank people in advance for bearing with us while we get the work done.”

The work dates are dependent on the weather.

The council manages other car parks nearby.
