A14 closure tonight on Felixstowe bound carriageway

The A14 will be closed on the outskirts of Ipswich later today (Tuesday, March 3) as staff from National Highways carry out work on the dual carriageway.

It will be closed on the Felixstowe bound side of the road from the Seven Hills junction to the Trimleys interchange from 8pm tonight until 6am tomorrow.

Workers will be carrying out “essential work” including replacing a message sign as well as other “necessary technology works”, said the highways authority.

And they added: “This work is needed to maintain and repair the equipment we use to monitor our network and manage traffic flows.

Traffic heading east will be diverted off the A14 at Seven Hills and travel along the old Felixstowe Road (A1156) to take the single carriageway track towards Trimley St Martin and rejoin the A14 at junction 59.

A map of the diversion is featured above.
