Children at Bacton Primary School enjoyed a fun Easter egg hunt thanks to sponsorship from Bellway Eastern Counties.

The company, which is building new homes at its Ivy Hill development in the village, donated 111 chocolate eggs for the event on Friday, March 27.

The children at the school, in Tailors Green, were challenged to find a laminated picture of an egg with their name on, hidden in the playground, which they could then swap for their Easter treat.

Sarah King, the co-executive/vice principal for Bacton and Mendlesham Primary Schools, said: “We are very grateful to Bellway for kindly donating Easter eggs again this year.

“Their generosity means all of our children can enjoy taking part in a whole‑school Easter egg hunt, which brings so much excitement and joy. We truly appreciate their continued support.”

Speaking on behalf of The Friends of Bacton Primary School, Nic Hitter said: “We are thrilled that Bellway have kindly agreed to provide us with Easter eggs for our egg hunt for a third year running.

“Without their generous donation the hunt wouldn’t take place which would be such a shame as the last two years have been great fun for the children.

“We love seeing them working together to help find each other’s eggs. It brings a great sense of togetherness to the playground.”

Bellway is building 85 new homes at Ivy Hill. The development, off Birch Avenue, will also include public open space, a children’s play area and land for a community building.

Mia Roussos, the sales director at Bellway Eastern Counties, added: “We are pleased to have an ongoing relationship with Bacton Primary School as part of our Ivy Hill project, and this is the third year in a row we have sponsored an Easter egg hunt for the children.

“Supporting local communities is a central element of Bellway’s sustainability strategy, as we are committed to ensuring that local people benefit from new housing development taking shape in their area.”
