Enjoy savings to Moyse’s Hall Museum and outdoor theatre events in West Suffolk’s parks this Summer

From Vikings and England’s first patron saint to Flopsy, Mopsy and Cottontail and Shakespeare in the park, there’s lots to enjoy with summer savings in West Suffolk.
The Great British Summer Savings scheme temporarily reduces VAT from 20 per cent to 5% on qualifying family-focused entertainment venues including museums. This relief runs across England, Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland from June 25 to September 1.
It means summer savings on tickets to Moyse’s Hall Museum, and on children’s tickets to a summer programme of theatre in the parks, all organised and run by West Suffolk Council.

There’s “have a go” activities included in the entry fee and look out for specialist workshops for families over the summer holidays.
Summer savers can also sit back and enjoy a host of Theatre in the Park events taking place in West Suffolk from late July and early August including:
- Shakespeare’s The Merry Wives of Windsor in The Abbey Gardens on July 28 to August 1.
- The Big Bad Wolf at Brandon Country Park on August 1.
- Peter Rabbit at Nowton Park on August 4.
- Romeo and Juliet at Nowton Park on August 5.
- The Ghost of Achilles at West Stow Country Park on August 7.
- The Cursed Ring at West Stow Country Park on August 10.
- The Jungle Book at West Stow Country Park on August 11.
The cost reduction applies to tickets purchased from the June 25 through to September 1 and does not apply to yearly seasonal ticket purchase.
Ian Shipp, the cabinet member for Leisure and Culture at West Suffolk Council, said: “We’re delighted to be putting on a fantastic mix of culture and entertainment for families and people of all ages to get out, experience and enjoy together this summer.
“We have the stunning Edmund exhibition on now until October and a host of theatre in the parks for residents and visitors to West Suffolk to savour. And with the Great Summer Saving Scheme families can now save money on their tickets as well which means there’s even more reason to get out and enjoy these culture experiences together.”
