Man jailed for six months for shoplifting offences

A man has been sent to jail for six months for shoplifting in Bury St Edmunds.

Devin Paola, (pictured above) admitted stealing three jackets from Blacks Ltd, in Auction Street, on October 22, and stealing tobacco from Tesco Express, in Stamford Court, when he appeared before Ipswich Magistrates on Friday, October 25.

The 25-year-old  was jailed for 26 weeks for each offence, the terms to run concurrently.

Paola, of Chalk Road South, in Bury St Edmunds, was also ordered to pay a total of £668 compensation and must appear before magistrates next month for pre-sentence reports for other offences.
