Pedestrian killed in collision with lorry on A14

Police this afternoon (Thursday, May 7) announced that a man died following a collision on the A14 at Bury St Edmunds which closed the dual carriageway.

Officers were called at 2.26am this morning to reports of a collision involving a lorry and a pedestrian on the eastbound carriageway.

The pedestrian, a man aged in his 70s, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The A14 remains closed in both directions between junction 43 (Tesco/suger beet factory) and junction 44 (A134/Moreton Hall) and diversions are in place.

Officers are appealing for any witnesses and asking any motorists driving in the area at the time of the incident with a dashcam fitted in their vehicle, to review the footage for any material that may be of assistance.
